At first I wondered why a pastor burning the Koran would garner so much press. The world is full of wackos. But then I discovered that believers have been killed over this. And here we go again. What is it with these people? An editorial cartoon about Mohammed incites violence and desecrating a Koran leads to murder and mayhem. Perhaps we should ask the Muslim world this; if you do this to us because we burned a Koran, what should we do to you for flying airliners into skyscrapers?
But back to the book-burning pastor; while I don't know the guy's motive I am pretty confident that his actions are not in the spirit of Jesus. By his actions attention is drawn to him and gives our enemies an opportunity to blaspheme. The church's interest would be better served by passing out Bibles instead of burning the Koran.
